Kent E. Boots and Thomas J. Potter are trained Bosch CDR Technicians and Analysts. They are also certified by the Collision Safety Institute to train and certify individuals as CDR Technicians (formerly Level I & II).
Mr. Boots has also attended additional specialized training to trouble-shoot communication problems and obtain data in situations where other technicians might not be able to. He has been teaching part of the CDR Technician: Train the Trainer Certification Course since 2012. He instructs qualified and experienced CDR Data Analysts to train others to the CDR Technician Level.
This course will provide an understanding of the components of the Bosch CDR Tool, exposing the user to the basic functions of the hardware and software so that, at a minimum, the user can confidently image and preserve data from supported vehicles using the standard OBD II (DLC) port, or in some case directly from the airbag control module (ACM).
This two day course (formerly CDR Tech Level 1 & II) is approved for 16 ACTAR CEUs.
It is a prerequisite for the CDR Analyst Course.
Damaged DLC Connector
Advanced Troubleshooting & Vehicle Systems for the CDR Technician
ACTAR CEUs pending approval. It is anticpated to be 20-24 CEUs.
This course provides the CDR Tool user with an advanced skillset to conduct DLC imaging in more difficult situations where other users might not be able to. Attendees will learn to troubleshoot vehicle electrical systems as well as “connecting” to the vehicle when the DLC is damaged or not accessible. The experienced CDR Tool user will gain a better understanding of the various vehicle system components that “provide” information to the ACM, their locations, as well as how to “test” them.
